Beginning eczema: Eczema on any part of the body at a young age puts the infant at risk for local skin problems, eye problems and systemic immune problems.  You need to see a pediatrician for this who can prescribe the proper medications.  A four month infant scratching to the bleeding point should not be neglected long for this problem, .

Probably: A baby floating in the slick moist environment of the womb will have pristine skin at birth.Between 2 wks and 2 months, more than half of infants will have transient baby acne triggered by the hormones that came across during pregnancy.I would keep it clean &amp; allow it to run its course. If any sites are more inflamed or persistent, your doc should evaluate. It should fade completely by 3 mo.

: I can't put the two issues together as cause and effect. What I have seen with such a history is mild disorders of movement/CP as the brain areas controlling movement are more susceptible to that sort of injury.

No; should be ok: A baby is very flexible, so sleeping 1-2 hours in a baby carrier is no problem, if he is buckled in a good position. Babies who frequently go on long commutes or vacation trips will spend many hours riding in car seats. They don't seem to get neck problems from the car rides.
