i have mirena (levonorgestrel) in. have had abdominal swelling, pain, fatigue.  i can't feel the mirena (levonorgestrel) strings. could this be caused by mirena (levonorgestrel) and should i worry?

Mirena (levonorgestrel): See your ob-gyn physician since these symptoms may indeed be related to the mirena (levonorgestrel). Even if not related, the cause should be determined since they are new symptoms without a ready explanation aside perhaps the mirena (levonorgestrel).

Air, stool, but...: Can be gas, stool, spasm, but can also be from serious causes like bowel obstruction,  perforation of a hollow organ like stomach, small bowel, colon, gyn issue. Call your doc today. Er if fever, vomiting, oan't pass gas, urine,  or stool.

Several causes: There are several potential causes of abdominal swelling. Gas trapped in the bowel, from partial obstruction, bad gallbladder, gastric reflux are a few. If you are vomiting or running fever get checked right away. If you are okay, try a bowel regimen, low fat diet, small frequent meals and more hydration. If not better in a week or so, get checked by your doc.

Doc first: Your mother needs an exam first with her doc or the doc that ordered her ESR ( that is abnormally high). Imaging studies will definitely help and the type of the study will be established based on exam and detailed history. A specialist may be needed once more is known.
