Your mucous membranes in the nose and your eyes are irritated upon contact with an environmental allergen and may also be irritated by dryness, pollutants because of the priming effect of allergies. See an ENT physician who practices allergies and get some allergy tests done to identify the offending allergen(s)

You bet!: When we stare at something for a long time (computer screen, book, wall) we decrease the amount of blinking per minute.  Blinking pushes water on the eye (reverse windshield wiper) to coat it.  When you don't blink, the eye dries and sends a signal to the tear gland to produce more tears in order to protect the eye. It is a sign that you are staring too long. Try a break or artificial tears.

Very common: Blurry vision is common after extended computer use.  Computer vision syndrome occurs when individuals stare at screens and increasing amounts of tear film evaporate causing dry eye.  The dry eye can blur your vision.   Additionally staring at one location for extended periods of time causes a strain in your accommodation that can cause blurry vision.

Perhaps: If you require correction (glasses, bifocals, contacts. ...) and are not wearing  these while at the computer you may have eye strain or even develop headaches.  You should be checked by an eye doctor.  Also dry eye could cause these symotoms - they can check for this too.

No to both: For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

Usually Unrelated: Since you seem to be well educated as to how to use the term "scintillating scotoma" and aware of what appears to trigger the same then, you must've done enough reading or been told by the eye doc that such a symptom is much less likely associated with eye problems than it is with headache problems such as aura of a migraine.  Back to the primary for a more definitive referral if necessary.

Eye Strain: Eye strain is common when working on the computer for long periods. Try these: Use blue light blocking screen protector or glasses, blink often/use lubricant eye drops, reduce glare to the screen and dim the room lights. Try the 20-20-20 rule: Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds. See an eye Dr to stay on top of visual acuity changes.

i poked my eye with my finger about two months ago. i can see perfectly fine out of it but a lot of mornings it will feel watery and will sting or burn. it seems like its worse after i stare at the computer screen for too long. what could this be?

Corneal erosion: When the cornea is traumatized causing an abrasion, often the healing process results in an irregular surface that doesn’t adhere to the cornea as strongly as it should. While sleeping, the tear flow declines, the eyelid ‘sticks’ to the irregular cornea and when the eyes open , the weak tissue tears away from its base causing the symptoms. Put lubricating ointment in every night for one month.
