i get what feels like muscle spasms in my upper center/upper left abdomen just below where my ribs split. these are easily felt and visible outside of the skin. what could it be?

Muscle spasms: I think your diagnosis is correct. An irritable superficial nerve or abdominal muscle is most likely causing these abdominal muscle spasms. If widespread muscle spasms or cramping were occurring, I would think of deficiencies of calcium magnesium ,potassium or sodium. However, your localized spasms should subside on their own. If not, see your MD.

pain in abdomen exactly in middle of my left side. the pain is precisely where my left arm or elbow would touch. it is excruciating, especially at night. i have been having severe muscle spasms all over, but mostly in my stomach, back, under front rib cag

Certainly : Certainly muscle pain can cause abdominal pain.  This can result in severe spasms.  Gallbladder sludge can cause abdominal pain.  Other bowel issues, such as inflammation, infection, or even constipation can be a cause.  If your pain is persistent, or you have fever, vomiting, or inability to eat, then you will have to notify your pcp (or the covering partner) again.

dull lower back pain just under ribs on left side. only feels slightly better when laying down on my right side. muscle spasms in the left leg also.

Back pain.: It is hard to tell without adequate physical examination. This could be due many possibilities. A muscle spasm, strain muscle, kidney stone,  pinched nerve due to disc problem.  I suggest you check with your doctor for adequate medical history and physical examination. This will lead to an adequate diagnosis and treatment. Hope you feel better soon.

is there any reason for frequent multiple muscle spasms all over? knees, abdomen, chest, at random times?

Multiple issues: YES. All of the possible underlying medical conditions require a comprehensive physicial examination to include blood and urine testing. Please call for ann appointment ASAP.

can sudden rhomboid muscle spasm (left side ) cause chest pain when breathing  with left side pain chest and neck to lower back ?

I would suspect that: whatever was contributing to the rhomboid muscle spasm may also be contributing to some pleuritic chest pain, neck and back pain.  Rhomboid spasm is often caused by overuse of your shoulder/arm from overhead activities. These same activities may have caused some intercostal muscle strain as well as neck and back pain. Ask your provider to help sort this out especially excluding any cardiac causes.

for the last 5 days i gave had an on and off twitch / muscle spasm just below my ribs cage bilaterally in the same area. this spasm  is not painful at?

Alarm signs to check: Recurrent abdominal discomfort is first addressed by accompanying signs/symptoms that may localize the organ involved: vaginal discharge or bleeding, alteration in periods, pregnancy risk? Fever, nausea, vomiting, altered stool pattern, blood with stool, tenderness, distension? Painful urination, blood in urine?  Recent trauma, herniations? Age? Gender? Risks? Also, what testing have you had?

Fractured ribs: Have you had an x ray following the bruising of your ribs. You may have a fracture d rib. It may be a good idea for you to visit your doctor and discuss the problem with him.

Intercostal Muscles: Pretty common. Anti-inflamatories, ice, rest. It's usually pretty short lived. If it hurts more when you move and take a deep breath it's likely not cardiac. See your doctor as an outpatient in a few days if it continues.

if pth is 19 (range: 14-64) and calcium has been between 9.1-9.5. could this cause bone changes? do you need calcium? symptoms: bones feel smaller, like shrinking. muscle spasms in entire back rib area. joint pain?

: Bone changes is a vague term. Discuss with your Dr who ordered tests as they know you.  We do not.

Diaphragm.: It could be your diaphragm. Make sure you stretch your trunk muscles routinely, it could help.
