these are my creatinine test results from seven different labs within a month  1.6    1.4    0.9    1.0    0.8    1.0    0.8      i am very worried about the discrepancies in my results. my urinalysis and renal scan are very perfect.  am i ok?

Why so many tests?: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your creatinine results are okay.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

should i request a pet scan? for the past seven months i have had a sharp, aching pain in my shin right on the bone near my knee that has progressively gotten worse.

See answer: Have your dr carefully evaluate you. After plain radiographs an MRI might be an appropriate diagnostic exam but not a pet scan.

i have had seven ct scans from the age of 23 to 28 (my current age) due to un-diagnosed crohns disease and complications. i am so concerned with my cancer risk given all the radiation an abdominal ct puts off. is this something of concern?

May be: There is minuscule increase in the risk, but there is nothing you can do about it. You can do other things to reduce your risk, e.g., abstain from tobacco and alcohol, maintain healthy weight, exercise regularly and eat a mostly vegetarian diet.

Wt loss: If it has been unintentional, seek medical attention immediately.

at a 7 week scan our fetus only measured 3.5 mm. is this cause for concern?

Accepted Answer

Probably not: A 3.5 mm crl would indicate a fetal gestational age of 5wks 6dys. Since clinical estimates of dates are frequently a bit off this is not a big deal. It probably was a little early to clearly see fetal heart activity. A repeat scan in 2 weeks that shows appropriate interval growth and definite fetal heart activity will confirm fetal life and the earlier dates.

Balance: Life is about having balance.  Too much of anything is not healthy physically or mentally.  Make sure to strive for balance for the best health.

hi, i had a 3d scan today, am 7 weeks and 2 days. sac size and crl are as expected but sac volume is 6.8ml, is that too low?

Probably low normal: While this isn't my area of expertise I do have some experience using ultrasound. The measurements are highly dependent on the healthcare provider using the machine. (i.e. Operator dependent) it is so early in your pregnancy you are talking about very small volumes. If i were you i wouldn't fret and worry over every minor detail and number.  I'm sure you're in excellent hands. Be well.

my hgc levels were in 32000's on 14th and 38000's on 16th i should be just over 7 weeks. i also had scan on 14th but no sack or baby was seen?

Follow up : You need to talk to your doctor about this.  A sac should be seen at an HCG of 2000-2500.  If the uterus is empty with that HCG i would worry that you have a very dangerous ectopic or an unseen molar pregnancy given that your hormone is rising . Regardless you need medical attention.  It's also possible this is a miscarriage but need to hear from doctor that this was his/her opinion based on image.

Call your OB: Please communicate with your OB/GYN call the office speak with the dr. on call. Good luck.  If you have experienced Braxton Hicks contractions during your pregnancy be able to compare them for your doctor.

my scan date says 7 weeks 3 days does that mean conception occurred 5 weeks 3 days ago if your lmp was not known do they measure the sac?

Exactly!: You are correct. The extra 2 weeks are added because of an old convention, and we date the pregnancy by "menstrual weeks". Full term = 40 weeks from lmp. We always use your menstrual age (even if we don't know your lmp) and we never really talk about fetal age (time since conception). I wish we could change this convention, it's confusing! by the way, there is a 4-7 day margin of error w that date.
