R/O CELLULITIS: Cellulitis is a superficial skin infection that can be caused after an abrasion or rupture of a boil . Keep the area clean and apply topical antibiotics. Seek prompt evaluation for potential need of oral antibiotics/X-ray /labs. F/U with your doctor if symptoms persist or worsen, oral antibiotics may be needed.

Not necessarily: Swelling can be either acute (new or recent) onset or swelling can be chronic (old) onset.  A soft tissue injury can have either acute or chronc swelling associated with it. For some types of injuries the swelling can take longer to resolve.

Difficult to tell: You may have had a large mean mosquito bite you, you may have developed allergic reactions to the bites, or perhaps it was something other than a mosquito.  I think you will recover.  Good luck.

Definitely: A boil causes such severe inflammation in the skin that it is not uncommon for the skin to remain swollen after the boil drains.  Another possibility is that it is incompletely drained.  Give it a few days.  If it does not resolve, please follow up with your doctor.

Could be normal: Not uncommon for swelling in ankle to last several months after an injury. Is there pain? Was it evaluated by a physician to make sure no structural damage was done? If there is pain or it has not been evaluated, see physician.
