Caffeine: Sounds like you are sensitive to caffeine. A rash can sometimes occur from boing nervous. There are no similarities in what you drink to indicate an allergy other than caffeine and that does not produce an allergy.

Sometimes: Diffrent types of coffee and diffrent types of energy drinks have diifrent caffeine content  read the label for each and make sure the  serving sizes are the same.

It depends upon: How much you are drinking. If you are bothered by restlessness, anxiety, difficulty sleeping your caffeine intake may be too high. Caffeine can also irritate the stomach and bladder.

i'm a 35 yr old female and everytime i start to drink coffee i end up having pain in my chest on the left side. i was told back in 1997 that i had developed pleurisy in my chest from drinking energy drinks but i read that caffeine doesn't cause pleurisy.

Not pleurisy: I agree that that caffeine does not cause pleurisy. As to why you get chest pain with coffee (just  caffeinated coffee or any hot liquid),I haven't a clue.If it is bothersome,stop drinking it.Doubt any serious problem.

Yes: But remember, one of the side effects of pelvic radiation therapy can be diarrhea, so keep caffeine intake moderate to avoid increasing the risk of diarrhea.

Very likely: This is a primary effect of the caffeine and is especially pronounced in those very sensitive to this drug.  Some however, like this feeling and take caffeinated products to get this feeling.

For what goals? This: is the far more important issue. Both promoted for symptoms; cure nothing, may promote other problems, especially if used frequently.  Additionally there are so many individual differences + no organized prospective placebo controlled or comparative trails of any sizable group on which to base an answer. why are some people abnormally sensitive to caffeine e.g. 1 can drink coffee b4 bed w/o prob but 1 is super hyper for 7 hours after drinking it?

Accepted Answer

Adaptation: If someone takes caffeine (or just about any stimulant) regularly, the body adapts and "gets used to it". There are detailed mechanisms that explain this, but the bottom line is if you haven't been exposed to caffeine or a related stimulant, you will have a much bigger reaction to it, compared to someone who takes caffeine regularly.
