Distinctly early: Has he been seen by a pediatric endocrinologist to get a workup? That's where I would would take him for a thorough evaluation. There could be some rather nasty things (tumors) going on.

Maybe: You would have to see if your growth plates are closed on x-ray . It would be very unlikely at age 22 for them not robe closed unless you went through puberty very late or had a delay.

Growth chart: Look at your growth over several years and determine if your are growing. Puberty occurs.

Most likely not: Most women stop their height growth 2 years after their first menses, about 13-14 yrs old. Surest test is bone age. Have an X-Ray of hand and fingers and wrist. You can find standards on the web. You can ask your mom and dad when they stopped growing.

Growth: I am sure you were seen by a pediatrician from birth and as you are growing up. I am also certain that your doctors have been plotting your height and weight growth curves.
Once you have that data in your (and your parents') hands you can begin to see if your are growing OK or not. If not further studies may be needed but hopefully you have been growing at the correct pace.

: A growth rate of 1"/yr is not normal for males in puberty. It suggests they are approaching the end of growth or are deficient in the hormones that support it. I would take his records to a visit with his doc so they can be reviewed &amp; appropriate studies done.

Growing velocity..: Varies with age. Growth spurt usually occurs at puberty. Increment of 1 cm in a month if accurately measured is quite robust. Tanner staging requires a physical examination. A rate of increase of about 6 - 12 cm  /12 months is within normal limits.
Eat well, be physically active and maintain regular health check up with your doctor to secure optimal growth and development. Take care!

Very little chance: Even when the growth spurt occurs later than usual, nearly all boys are done growing by age 19.  If you have grown some since 18 you might get an extra 1/4 to 1/2 inch but if you haven't grown in the past year you are done growing

Growth chart is it!: To many factors to consider, but growth potential (parental height), nutrition and underlying illnesses (ie. Heart, metabolic, gastrointestinal, genetic, etc) may play a role. Talk with your doctor and ask to see the growth chart. In it is the key to being reassured or finding reason for further work up.

5 cm per year: is the average rate of growth. Most children do not have growing pains.
