37 year old. had gastritis and doctor is treating me for h pylori. after starting the treatment, i see foamy stool. i didn't have it before. is this something serious.no pain or blood or loose stools?

: Have you finished the therapeutic regimen? If yes, how long and what medications were you taking?  I would say the stool change is due to med side effect and the stool character should normalize in time.

? infectious ?: My first thought with this history would be an infectious diarrhea like salmonella or shigella. There are other possibilities but I would want to know this first before jumping to an invasive procedure.

Diarrhea: There are different causes of diarrhea. Viral illness is a common cause. Taking too much juices can cause toddler's diarrhea. Other infections like bacteria and parasites can cause watery stools as well. Parasitic infection usually causes chronic diarrhea. Other intestinal pathology like inflammation from various causes, lactose intolerance can lead to chronic diarrhea as well.

4 year olds eyes are grey instead of white after a few days of diarrhea. he never stopped eating, never felt sick, and never acted strange. should i be worried about his eyes? he also has 3 grey hairs. is that normal?

: It's not unusual for a child to have a few -or even many- white hairs, or metallic red hairs, or blonde hairs.  Variations in coloring are common.

If your child's diarrhea has subsided and he is eating, drinking and has no fever, a temporary change in the eye appearance should not be of concern.

my 4 year olds body temp is at 95.3 while sleeping. he has had vomiting and diarrhea for several days. only place open now is er. should i take him?

Diahhrea several day: It depends how your child is, has he/she beenkeeping any fluid down, you have to see if his mucous membranes like his tonge are moist, is he passing urine.The concern here is dehydration, dehydrated children will not be passing urine and will have dry tongue and will feel very thirsty all the time.If none of these is there, you can wait till next day and see your pediatrician, but if dehydrated er now.

Gas: Gas and diarrhea sometime result from poor absorption and causes include intestional infections (viral, bacterial or parasitic), IBS, or other problems. Please see a doctor.

Look further: obtain a lactulose breath test to look for bacterial overgrowth. exclude celiac disease. try a gluten free diet.

Viral syndrome: Sounds like a viral syndrome. Keep him hydrated with pedialyte and tylenol (acetaminophen) only if temp goes above 101.5 f.

4yr old had diarrhea that was brown with alot of pink/salmon colored mucousy stuff in it, is it blood? what would cause this? she seems fine otherwise

Possible blood: This fresh appearing substance sounds like blood mixed with mucus and could have stemmed from a small anal fissure that opened up with the diarrhea. If it doesn't subside, call your pediatrician for an examination.

3rd day threshold...: If fever/ wt loss/ weakness/dehydration see doc soon. Get a stool sample to the doc for exam also.
