Illness or teething?: This is a typical time for babies to start to have teething behaviors, this might be one cause of the decrease in breast milk intake.  Is he feeding at the breast? or pumping bottles? Good wet diapers?  Weight percentiles growing ok?  Keep an eye out for other symptoms, might be an illness coming on.  Painful feedings? Fever? Drooling? Contacts with illness?

Basics: Cow milk will provide adequate calcium &amp; other basic nutrients when intake peaks at 16-24 oz/d. More than that can irritate the gut &amp; eventually cause tiny amounts of blood loss that can cause anemia. A kid needs to take in enough fluid value (from any source) to pee every 6 hrs on average. Since some fruit is 95% water/vegies 60% &amp; other foods vary I find it unnecessary to keep close track.

: By 3 months most infants can sleep through the night regardless of feeding method. They feed adequately during the day. 80% of breast feeds are extracted in 5 min/side, so limiting feeds to 10 min/side &amp; going every 2 hrs can build feeds if needed. If the urine output is every 3-4 hrs I wouldn't worry about the feeds.

Variable: Really variable. Typically about 3 to 4 oz every 4 hrs, but I've had babies that age drink 8 oz every 3 hrs. Basically they take what they need. If they spit up and are miserable, you are overfeeding

~900 ml.: Your average infant can fit ~ 30ml/kg into the stomach per feeding and a 3mo weighs~5.5kg. An intake of ~900ml of regular formula will acheive 110cal/kg to sustain basic growth. Many will take a bit more.

Formula feeding: It would be best for your baby if you continue breast feeding when ever you're home &amp; suppliment with milk base formula such as Enfamil or semilac,  try to pump your breast &amp; freeze  your breast milk to use it later. Good luck. Enjoy your bundle of joy.

No water!: We don't want to give your baby water at this age.  She should have either breast milk or properly mixed formula.  Water in small babies can result in a low sodium level in the bloodstream which can lead to seizures!  Congrats on breastfeeding your baby!  Even with formula supplement, breastmilk is giving baby very important immune system benefits and protection from infection!

: 80% of breastmilk is extracted during natural feeding at 5 min/side/90% at 10 min. If you have a good automatic pump you can likely maintain a similar efficiency and output if done every 3-4 hours. Manual expression rarely keeps up with demand, but you can try a similar schedule. Some have more luck than others. Having the kid occasionally feed naturally can help maintain supply.
