At this size: it should pass.  Assuming you have no other conditions that would predispose you to calcium or uric acid stones and this is your first episode, you should be ok.  Assuming that you have a calcium phosphate type stone, things to avoid are dehydration and foods that contain high calcium or phosphates.  Drink plenty of fluids, but avoid colas.

Cannot tell when: Cannot tell when it will move, but it is likely to be painful. You may help your cause by drinking enough water everyday so that your urine is mostly colorless. It will help the stone move and prevent formation of more stones.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

is ureteroscopy a painful thing to go through. i have  a 2mm kidney stone. its in my left kidney. its moved a lot its lower down my back.

Ureteroscopy : This treatment for many stones involves using a small scope to look into the ureter (kidney tube).  The stone can be either removed or broken up with a laser.
After surgery there may or may not be a stent.  This is a thin, soft plastic tube to keep the ureter from closing.  Either way, you can expect some burning with peeing, urgency/frequency to peeing, mild pain in the side or blood in the urine.

2-3 liters/day: Hydration will help prevent this stone from growing and prevent future stones from forming.  Depending on where this 2mm stone is located, hydration may also help it to pass.  Size of the stone affects the likelihood of passage. Strain your urine and save the stone.  See a urologist.

Most : Most but not all stones that size will pass.  Time to passage is variable.  Hours to weeks.  Regardless of size, intervention with surgery is indicated if pain is severe, nausea, vomiting or fever/ infection are present.  Your urologist should monitor and guide you.  Flomax (tamsulosin) or similar drugs are helpful in dilating the ureter to encourage stone passage.

Yes: If it's in the ureter and not moving after 10 days of tamsulosin, i would consider ureteroscopy.

Yes you will : 2mm stone most likely you will pass with out any intervention , some times you will have severe pain , along with  small amount of blood in the urine , then you will be fine.
