Some people: get a paradoxical reaction to benadryl (diphenhydramine). Whereas it makes most people tired, it can make some jittery. The effects should fade in 4-6 hours. Make sure to tell any health care providers about this reaction in the future. It is not an allergy, but they will want to know to anticipate it before giving you the medicine if you need it. All the over-the-counter strengths i've ever seen are 25 mg, so you can take 2 of those.

Not safe: I do not suggest taking these drugs together. Benadryl is an antihistamine. The Doxylamine succinate in NyQuil Severe is also an antihistamine. NyQuil Severe delivers maximum symptom-fighting ingredients and so taking another similar drug is too much and could accentuate possible side effects. I also suggest an routine exam at a medical clinic for your condition.
