how will 100 mg of clomid impact ovulation versus 50 mg of clomid?  my wife is on her 2nd cycle as the 50 mg didn't work.  we've been trying for 1.5 years, so i hope clomid works.  losing hope that we'll get pregnant.

Other fertility drugs include Letrozole tablets or injectables like follistim. If your wife is not getting pregnant easily with Clomid (clomiphene) we need to find out why before changing treatment - could be one or more of: low egg supply, pcos / hormonal problems, problems with her fallopian tubes or uterus or your sperm.

I would only do the: 100 mg , no more, if she does not ovulate on the 100 mg then she needs referral, that is what i would do, if she ovulates on the 100mg i would do it one more month, if not preg the 2nd month of the 100mg then i would refer and i assume she is also taking estrogen and Progesterone with the clomid (clomiphene).

Possibly: It is a good sign that you have a positive LH test after Clomid (clomiphene) use. This may indicate that you ovulated. Schedule a follow up with your doctor to confirm ovulation. Your doctor can evaluate your pelvic pain and evaluate for ovarian cysts.

Ovulatory meds: Controlled ovarian hyperstimulation should ONLY ever be done with close monitoring by a specialist due to the serious risks of these medications, especially in cycles with combined medications. You should talk with your specialist about the risks and benefits of these types of regimens.

Either/or: Both regimes seem to work, I have seen different practitioners use one of the above protocols. Certainly, if you have tried one of the above regimes for 3 months or so, may switch to the other regime to see if that perhaps would work (assuming you are on the right dosage).
