Unusual: Your Insulin is appropriately suppressed for a low fasting blood sugar. It isn't what we usually see in patients with pre-diabetes, however.   What did the rest of your ogtt look like? Hba1c?

GTT: It is not fasting if you drink 40 ozs of water. It needs to be nothing to eat or drink after midnight for an 8 am test. Good Luck

Not likely: Even though you did not follow the protocol, given the other results, you are not likely to have failed the test had you stayed put as required. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

Normal: You did a screening test with 75g of glucose.  A result under 140 is considered normal.  If it was above 140 you would have had a full glucose tolerance test with 100 gm.  You do not need to worry.

Need the numbers: Hi. We can't tell you anything about your OGTT without knowing the numbers. Give us fasting and 2 hour; that's all we need.

Lab test: Glucometer is not used for diagnosis.  If you want to know if you have diabetes, ask your doctor to order fasting glucose and an A1c. If bs is over 126 fasting and a1c is over 6.5, then you have diabetes.  Good luck.

A glucose level is checked 1st, then the person drinks a standardized drink with sugar, and then two hours later the glucose is checked again. If glucose &gt;200 the patient has Diabetes (type II) whereas 140-200 indicates "pre-diabetes" (at high risk for developing diabetes)
