Ear pressure
Pressure in the middle ear is ideally equal to environmental pressure. It is corrected by the eustachian tube, which connects from the middle ear to the back of nose. The popping that occurs when one goes in an airplane is the eustachian tube opening to equalize ear pressure. When pressures differ, the ear drum can be sucked in or bulge out. With this fluid can accumulate causing an otitis media.
