Lipase inhibitor
A lipase inhibitor is a medication that blocks lipases, the digestive enzymes that break down the fat a person eats, so that the fat can be absorbed into the body. A person who takes a lipase inhibitor will not absorb some fat from his intestines, and will not gain as many calories from his meals. The unabsorbed fats become part of his stool and sometimes causes diarrhea.
