Endocrinology is a medical specialty which involves disorders of the endocrine glands. These glands release hormones into the blood. Hormones have effects in other parts of the body. Examples of endocrine glands include the pituitary gland, adrenal gland, and thyroid gland. Diabetes is an endocrine disorder due to problems with supply of the hormone, insulin.
