Hepatic fibrosis is a condition that is typically inherited and consists of liver scarring that leads to high pressure in the blood vessels of the gastrointestinal system. This blood congestion can lead to fluid build up in the abdomen, abdominal infections, episodes of confusion, and bleeding in the esophagus.
