Budd chiari syndrome is defined as the clinical presentation ( symptoms) related to the occlusion or obstruction of the hepatic ( liver) veins. Most of the time, it is represented by abdominal pain, ascite ( increased abdominal fluids) and hepatomegaly ( increased liver size, caused by veins obstruction). It can be acute or chronic.
