Metastatic carcinoma
Metastatic carcinoma refers to the spread of the cancer outside the area of origin. For some cancers, this can be spread to nodes outside the area that drains the organ involved (esophageal) or it can refer to multiple tumors within the same organ (liver - cholangiocarcinoma).
