Probably nothing: Any bleeding in the middle of your birth control pack is abnormal. This is called break through bleeding. It is a very common problem and is not dangerous. This will usually resolve without treatment. If the problem persists then consider a different form of birth control.

Yes: You may take fewer placebo pills than prescribed so long as you take your pills at the same time each day. Starting a pack early may or may not stop a current menses.
