A member asked:

Is cancer a side effect of depotrust?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mixed: Medroxyprogesterone, the active ingredient in depotrust, has been shown to increase the risk of breast cancer in young women when they are using it for birth control. Breast cancer is so rare in these young women that the actual risk is very low. The risk seems to go away shortly after a woman stops using it. On the other hand, it lowers the risk of uterine and ovarian cancer.
