Not ovulating: For some reason your body has stopped ovulating. Without ovulation your body will thicken the lining of the uterus but not have regular periods. Another possibility is premature ovarian failure, or a thyroid problem. Labwork and a sonogram can give the exact answer. Provera (medroxyprogesterone) or ocps can make you have 'artificial' periods. They protect against endometrial cancer.
