Depends: Some guys can; some guys can't. If you're one of the guys who can't, and somehow it does end up getting pulled all the way back and you can't replace it, and it's hurting -- you've got a medical emergency -- get to the emergency room. Beyond this -- bodies are variable and there's no "best.".
