May be silent, Some: Most people w chlamydia don’t have sxs. That is why it’s called a silent std. Chlamydia can cause vaginal discharge, bleeding w intercourse or btwn periods, nausea, fever, painful intercourse, & lower abdominal & back pain. Men can experience discharge, burning w urination, itching around the opening of the penis (urethra) & less often – pain/ swelling of testes. It can lead to rectal pain, >>.

A 31-year-old member asked:

Is it possible for a woman be tested and have chlamydia but her male partner does not?

Nothing is....: Impossible. But a guy can say that he had a test and it was negative even if he has not had a test at all. It happens . If you do have chlamydia, he needs to see someone, get tested and be treated too. Then after treatment, you both should have repeat tests in 6 weeks or so to be sure that it was eradicated. All partners of both of you should be seen and treated. Good luck!

Rare...but possible: Depends on several factors: are both of you monogamous? Are you having both oral and vaginal sexual penetration? Is this a new sexual partner? The best idea is to get an STD screen. Use condoms and spermicidal foam or jelly
