Chlamydia: Some std's like chlamydia may start insidiously and the symptoms often mimic an exaggerated vaginal discharge. Pain and fever often develops late in the disease when the condition is advanced. In a significant amount of patients, the infectious agent is found only during a routine check-up. This makes it difficult to pinpoint the exact time one got the disease.
