Should be examined.: If you haven't had recent intercourse and do not have a sexually transmitted infection, then you should be seen by a gynecologist to determine whether or not you have vaginal atrophy or a yeast infection, leading to trauma to the vaginal walls/epithelium. If you think this is related to sex, consider a lubricant. Vaginal atrophy can be treated with topical estrogen, which is safe.
