A 31-year-old member asked:

Will breasts grow only in puberty or anytime when you put on weight ?

Breasts: Breast tissue grows during puberty, and also with pregnancy and breastfeeding. Otherwise an increase in size of the breasts with weight gain is due to an increase in fat within the breasts rather than an actual change in breast tissue itself (which can reverse with weight loss.).
Dr. Otto Placik
Plastic Surgery 34 years experience
Grow at any time : The breasts can grow at any time in response to weight gain or hormone changes. This can include oral contraceptives or exogenous hormones which may increase the glandular component of the breast whereas weigh gin may increase the fatty components of the breast.
Dr. Daniel Careaga
Plastic Surgery 18 years experience
Anytime: If you gain weight you will increase the amount of fat in your breasts.... Not a good reason to gain weight though!
