Missing an oral: Contraceptive one day out of the cycle usually doesn't have an significant impact on protection. However, if one missed two or more times, the protection will lessen to the point that 7 days without is just like having no protection. Emergency contraceptives are sometimes used by women for failure of birth control protection.
