Topical: Gential warts are caused by hpv or human papilloma virus. Warts are benign but can be annoying. They can be surgically removed or treated with topical chemicals. Even if warts are treated, the virus never goes away. The real concern is if high risk hpv is present or not, which can present risk for cervical or other genital cancers.
