A member asked:

What could it be if you have a bump on the side of your vagina and it sometimes gets big and pops like a pimple but other times gets really small?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

An abscess: There are several gland openings that my become obstructed. If they contain bacteria it may start out as a cyst of a sebaceous gland, Bartholin's gland or hair follicle. With an infection it becomes an abscess and may drain on its own or require an incision to drain it and possibly a course of antibiotics.
