If you are taking vitamins to help with herpes and you don't get outbreaks that often is there a test i can take to see if it all working or not?

Makes no difference: Vitamins do not influence the natural history of herpes disease. Herpes may need medication. However, vitamins are just a waste of money. And obviously there are no tests. Check with your doc if you need two or more doses of valacyclovir.
