Depends: A tiny amount of grayish drainage as the blisters rupture and dry is normal. If there is a bed of puss or increasing redness around the original blisters there can be a problem. Zoster lesions can become secondarily infected with various germs including strep and staph. The most worrisome can cause a rapidly moving cellulitis while some can carry MRSA staph.
