STD transmission: By definition, if an STD (or any other infectio) is passed from one person to another, the second person is infected. If you're asking whether any sexual contact will pass an STD, the answer is know. It's very common for someone with syphilis, gonorrhea or chlamydia etc to not infect his or her partner. But testing misses some STD, and the partner still should be treated.
