IUDs, maybe others: Not birth control pills (for sure, oral Estrogens are not safe for anyone with that history). Definitely the copper iud would not increase clotting risk; and most hematologists are comfortable with use of the progestin iud for patients with that history. Sometimes/usually, they are okay with the shots, and the implantable rod, because these dont' contain estrogens. Condoms/sponges, okay too.
