Can your body get used to birth control and it stops working after being on the same pill for years?

No: For your body to ovulate you need hormone cycles that birth control pills stop. That does not "wear off". You may want to look a little deeper into the use of using those artificial hormones, though. Your body is designed to go through those cycles, and in the long-term you could have problems from suppressing them.
