3 weeks after sex: A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result, if done correctly and read correctly, 3 weeks after sex (after presumed conception). A test can be done at any time, but waiting 3 weeks helps avoid false-negative results from testing too soon.

Conservative 1 wk: A few days after unprotected sex, you can check but to save money and be conservative, wait a week after unprotected sex and then check a test. The urine tests are very sensitive for even small amounts of b-hcg. Best wishes.
