: Because today's oral bcp's are low in hormones, "missing" or late taking of one or two may cause breakthrough spotting. Do the placebo week and resume a new pack on day 8 . Try to remember to take the active pills in the same hour that the prior day's active pill is taken, to avoid "spotting".
