A member asked:

If i have plantar warts on my feet is it possible for the hpv to spread to other parts of my body like my throat and give me a higher risk of head and neck cancer?

HPV strains are selective as to where they are found. Plantar wart strains are skin surface infestations and do not travel in your blood to other sites. Plantar wart strains are also not on the list associated with a high risk of cancer.

Agree with Dr. Ferguson. Do get HPV vaccine to protect yourself from other strains of HPV that can cause cancer.
