How long does it take for sperm to be present in the ejaculate after a vas reversal?

It varies: Usually sperm will be observable after 3 months, but I have seen patients who do not have sperm in the ejaculate until 12 months after the reversal. I personally would wait 6-12 months before declaring a failure.
