A PPD skin test is falsely positive up to ~2% of the time. Common causes include misinterpretation, BCG vaccine as an infant (not done in the US) and infection my non-TB members of the mycobacteria family which are often minor. This is a relatively cheep screening tool, compared to the IGRA blood test that is more accurate. The testing you had says you are fine. I wouldn't worry about it.

The ppd test and blood test do not always align. The CXR result indicates that you may have been exposed to TB, but that there is no TB lung disease. Other possibilities include false positive or non mycobacterial TB. A virtual consult with Healthtap is available to further review. Please see your physician and consider a second blood test for TB rule out. The PPD is measured, please provide.

A positive skin PPD test indicates prior infection with TB or a related organism, or prior BCG vaccination. It does not mean any active infection. Follow your doctor's advice for continuing care for whatever issue led to the test. Wish you good health!
