Urinate & D-mannose: Urinating shortly after intercourse usually helps prevent uti's. She can also take about 1/2 tsp of d-mannose each evening-this usually works quite well. See http://tahomaclinicblog.Com/d-mannose-for-bladder-and-kidney-infections/.

Many possibilities: Sometimes eating sugar lowers the body's ability to fight infection. Eat healthy and avoid sugar & alcohol before sex. Drinking uva ursi tea or taking a strong capsule of cranberry extract with with 8 oz of water and then urinating flushes out bacteria after sex. Eating lots of vegetables and avoiding dairy, wheat and sugar prevents the growth of e coli in the GI tract.
