The most common STD, Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) rarely gives symptoms unless you acquired a wart strain that may produce genital warts weeks or months after contact if ever. Both chlamydia and gonorrhea occasionally give no symptoms to either gender. If you are sexually active with multiple partners it is reasonable to be tested occasionally, symptoms or not.
