"Birth control injections" are usually every three months, and by a physician using depo-progesterone. Non-regular periods are common using progestin injections. If breast tenderness, fluid retention and/or pregnancy symptoms occur, obtain a serum HCG test to make certain about pregnancy. "A bit late" is common with "irregular periods".
