Contraceptives come in a variety of methods, some that are effective immediately. Condoms are probably the most spontaneous. If you plan on having regular sexual activity with your partner you should invest in an IUD, cervical ring or a Diaphragm. for longer term hormonal contraception, you can start on Birth control pills, 3 month Depo injections, or 5 year implant.

Three things in life are certain: death, taxes, and that if you have sex without birth control, you'll get pregnant. Getting contraception is a lot easier than raising a child when you're 20 years old without a husband, solid education or career. Make the right choice.

Agree with Dr. Kratzberg. Do not have sex without contraception, if you do not wish to be pregnant, Canadian healthcare system probably provides oral contraceptive. Get HPV vaccine. Safe sex: https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/safer-sex-guidelines
