One of the most common side effects of Lynestrenol (a progestin based contraceptive) is irregular spotting/ menstrual bleeding or no period at all. This is because the pill contains no estrogen and therefore the buildup of the uterine lining (which is sloughed off during your period) is minimized. Many women appreciate this side effect. Talk to your Dr if you would prefer a monthly period.
