A member asked:

Mucus from anus after passing stool: slimy, smells like fish? bloated, gassy, but no diarrhoea. stool appears normal otherwise normal, just this anal discharge?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Colitis: Mucus from the anus indicates for colon (large bowel) is inflamed. You need to see a doctor to determine why its inflamed and what needs to be done about it. There is no “just anal discharge” but it could be a short term temporary condition (infection) or a long term, more serious inflammatory bowel disease.
