Your call: Warts near the anus are usually from a strain of HPV. This is a family of viruses with more than a hundred strains. The wart strains are generally not linked to cancer but are acquired the same way. These warts may clear within 2 years but often grow to sizes that become uncomfortable. Removal through freezing/laser or application of chemical agents is often needed.
