A member asked:

I have a small wart next to my anus and very tiny ones around it. they don't itch or hurt. i've just noticed the tiny ones but i've had the one for as long as i can remember. i recently did a pap smear and the results were clear.should i be concerned?

Your call: Warts near the anus are usually from a strain of HPV. This is a family of viruses with more than a hundred strains. The wart strains are generally not linked to cancer but are acquired the same way. These warts may clear within 2 years but often grow to sizes that become uncomfortable. Removal through freezing/laser or application of chemical agents is often needed.
