A member asked:

I have been prescribed junel birth control pills it says take first day of period on sunday but if my period doesnt start sunday do i not take the sunday pill should i skip sunday and come back to get the week after ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No strict rules: Junel is a 2-hormone pill and the pack can be started anytime. Starting at the beginning of the calendar week makes it easy to remember to take the daily pill. One way is to start on Sunday of the expected regular start of the period, and then do a pregnancy test if the withdrawal period doesn't come on the Inactive Pills days. Read the package on whether adding condoms is needed at first.
