Can sex at an early age cause cervical cancer?

Basics: Sec by itself at any age does not cause cancer. Sex can expose you to at least 7 strains of the HPV virus known to be associated with cervical,anal or throat cancer. If you have had the Gardacil 9 HPV vaccine you may gain some protection form this problem, but women who are sexually active need regular pap smears & STD testing as part of safe practices.
